STOP, LOOK, and LISTEN

This exercise can connect you to your world in a mindful way.


STOP what you're doing right now, if it is safe to do so. Notice if your body is resisting stopping. Does it feel compelled to rush to the next task?


LOOK at your surroundings. Truly see the people, nature, the busyness, or stillness of your surroundings.


LISTEN to the sounds around you. Try to identify the farthest away sound. Give it a name. Become curious about that sound. What imagery comes to mind as you recall what the sound is connected to?


Take a few extra moments to make a note (in your phone or on paper) of your experience when you took time to STOP, LOOK, and LISTEN.
